Biography:

As a child of Ukrainian immigrants, Roman has been surrounded by art since birth.  His father, Bohdan Tytla, is a well known and highly respected fine artist in the Ukrainian community who also happens to be a close relative of Vladimir (Bill) Tytla, the legendary Disney animator, who's work is still considered to be some of the best ever created in animation history.  His mother, the late Halyna Tytla, was an iconographer who's beautiful work adorns many churches and Ukrainian homes around the world. Educated in advertising design, his eclectic career had him working as a creative director, a printing industry executive, a professional musician, and currently as an entrepreneur and musical composer/director. All through his life there was always a deep passion for astronomy. Since the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope, he has followed it's discoveries with great excitement. It was his expertise in the printing world and the emergence of superior quality art reproduction techniques that sparked the idea for this exhibit.

Artist Statement:

"We are in the midst of the golden age of astronomy. Rapid advances in science and technology are allowing us  to  delve further and increase our knowledge into the cosmos. This amazing imagery the universe presents us with is often overlooked and taken for granted. My deep passion for art and space inspired me to curate and archive these incredible portraits. These profound photos reflect the sublime convergence of science and nature… "God’s Art". They capture the breathtaking beauty and awe of the universe like no other. An invitation for the viewer, to reach for the stars.”
