Vladimir Umansky was born in 1948 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Umansky completed his fine art studies at the Repin Institute of painting, sculpture, and architecture.  Upon graduating the Repin Institute in 1973, Umansky began his artistic career in Fine Arts and became a distinguished member of the Union of artists of Russia. Umansky's unique provocative works depict original characters who take the viewer on a deep philisophical journey. For the last thirty years Umansky has participated in international exhibitions and over 400 of his wprks have been placed in major museums and private collections internationally, including the George Riabov Collection, Jane Vorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, and the St. Petersburg Academy of Art Museum.
